The hackers found Donald Trump's password due to a 2012 LinkedIn data breach that compromised a database of 117 million usernames and passwords.

Washington DC: Three hackers were in a total shock and amusement at the same time when they attempted to gain access to Donald Trump's Twitter account just before the presidential elections in October 2016 and were able to get into it rather easily. ALSO READ | 'Pakistan Has Made Tremendous Efforts In Fighting Terrorism,’ China Defends Ally As It Faces Flak From India & US According to a recent media report, Dutch hackers got into Donald Trump's account by entering the 'yourfired' as the password. The hackers found Trump's password due to a 2012 LinkedIn data breach that compromised a database of 117 million usernames and passwords. For the uninitiated 'You are fired!' is Trump's catchphrase from his reality TV show 'The Apprentice' - the shortened/misspelled version of it worked out on his Twitter profile as well. "They were shocked when it worked. The Dutch knew they were potentially in trouble because it could be interpreted as a cyber attack on a presidential candidate," Vrij Nederland journalist Gerard Janssen who saw screenshots was quoted. Trump's team never got back but the National Cyber Security Center thanked them and informed that the American government had taken up the report. Reportedly, being the US President has its added benefits as Trump's accounts may have some enhanced security measures applied that aren't available to regular verified Twitter account users. "The president would undoubtedly be the service's prime target for hackers, so it is possible that Twitter has afforded Trump and his staff some form of extra verification that made it more difficult to breach his account," Forbes had reported.
