'Figment Of Imagination:' Delhi Police On Claim Of Bombs Dropped At Farmers’ Protest Site

Brushing off the rumours, the DCP outer north clarified that the claim of dropping improvised bombs by drone at farmers' protest site is a figment of imagination.

Amid the intensified farmers' protest at various borders of the national capital, there are claims of Delhi police dropping improvised bombs at the protest site near the stage of farm organisation Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC) on Saturday. A Twitter handle, Trolley Times, on Saturday alleged that Police has barricaded the KMSC stage from Sanyukt Morcha as well as Delhi side since January 27th. In a post on the micro-blogging site, the handle further stated that protesters claim a helicopter dropped two improvised bombs near the stage. Brushing off the rumours, the DCP outer north said that the claim of dropping improvised bombs by drone is a figment of imagination.

The police authorities also clarified that the access to the KSMC stage from the Delhi side as well as the Sanyukt Morcha stage is open via pre-designated routes and is in use by protestors.

In the following post, the police also cleared the air over the availability of civil amenities. "All civil amenities including mobile toilets, water tankers are available on the ground and are being used by protestors,” DCP outer north said.

Meanwhile, thousands of farmers from Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh continue to camp at various border points of Delhi insisting on repeal of the three farm bills enacted by the centre last year.
