Coronavirus Highlights, May 25: Union health ministry reported that cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country exceeded 19.84 crores. Coronavirus Highlights, May 25: After weeks of lockdown in several states and cities, the number of fresh Covid-19 cases have started to slow down however the Covid-related fatalities sees no respite. Country's Covid death toll has crossed the 3-lakh mark, becoming the third country globally after US and Brazil to record such figure.
The black fungus also continues to haunt the country as till now, 5,424 cases of Mucormycosis have been detected in 18 States/UTs. Out of 5,424 cases, 4,556 patients have history of COVID19 infection.
While states complain of shortage of vaccines, union health ministry said that cumulative number of COVID19 vaccine doses administered in the country exceeded 19.84 crores as per the 8 pm provisional report from Monday.
4,798 new COVID-19 cases in Punjab
Punjab reported 4,798 new COVID-19 cases, 6,451 recoveries and 176 deaths in the past 24 hours. While states like Uttar Pradesh and Delhi have recorded a dip in active COVID cases, Tripura, Meghalaya and Tamil Nadu reported a jump in the fresh Coronavirus cases.
