Coronavirus HIGHLIGHTS: After weeks of lockdown in several states and cities, the number of fresh Covid-19 cases and deaths related to the novel disease has started to slow down. The country for the first time since April 14 recorded lowest daily rise in infections on Tuesday. The Indian Medical Association reported that a total of 513 doctors have died across the country in second wave of COVID-19. In another development, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday in meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterre discussed the Covid challenges, underlining the importance of finding urgent & effective global vaccine solutions against Covid-19.

Jharkhand records less than 1k COVID cases
Jharkhand registered 977 new COVID-19 cases, 2403 recoveries and 19 deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 14,196 in the state.
