One person was injured after a massive protest broke out at Byadagi wholesale market over the sudden fall in the prices of famous Byadagi red chilies in Karnataka's Haveri district on Monday. According to ANI, a huge protest was held by farmers in Haveri over the decrease in the prices of the famous Byadagi red chilies at the Byadagi wholesale market.
Haveri SP Anshukumar said, "There is an uproar about chilli price... One person was also injured... Investigation is underway and we will provide complete information soon... We have already taken some people in custody... The implementation of Section 144 is under review..."

Taking to reporters, Home Minister G Parameshwara said that chilli prices had gone down from Rs 20,000 per quintal to Rs 8,000 per quintal in a single day and that led to a commotion in Haveri APMC market. It is being checked whether this kind of price fall has happened in all the APMC markets or only in the Haveri market, according to PTI.
