President Draupadi Murmu To Launch Anti-TB Campaign
President Draupadi Murmu will on Friday launch the 'Pradhan Mantri TB Free India Campaign' through the digital medium, which aims to make the country tuberculosis (TB) free by the year 2025.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called for making the country TB-free five years ahead of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goal at the 'Delhi End TB Summit' held in March 2018.
President Murmu will also launch the 'Ni-kshay Mitra' initiative which will be an important part of this campaign. The Ni-kshay portal provides a platform for donors to provide various types of support to people undergoing treatment for TB.
The three-tier support is Nutrition, Extra Diagnostics and Commercial Support. Only these donors will be called Ni-kshay Mitras. These can include public representatives, from political parties to corporates, NGOs and common people.
AAP's Manish Sisodia, Bhagwant Mann To Address Public Meeting In Himachal
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will address a public meeting in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district on September 9, AAP spokesperson Gaurav Sharma said here on Thursday.
Mandi is the home district of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
During their visit to Mandi, Sisodia and Mann will announce the Aam Aadmi Party's fifth guarantee to the people of Himachal Pradesh ahead of the Assembly polls later this year, according to Sharma.
As part of its poll guarantees, the AAP has already promised free and quality education and medical treatment to the people of the hill state if it is voted to power.
After its strong showing in the Punjab polls early this year, the AAP is looking to make inroads into Himachal Pradesh.
