Breaking News LIVE, October 12, 2021: Hello and welcome to ABP News LIVE Breaking News Blog! Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in the G20 Extraordinary Leaders' Summit on Afghanistan today.
The summit is being convened by the G20 Italian Presidency and is scheduled to take place at around 4 pm.
The agenda of the meeting will include a discussion on response to humanitarian needs and access to basic services and livelihood; security and the fight against terrorism; and mobility, migration and human rights.
"At the invitation of the Italian Presidency of the G-20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the upcoming G20 Extraordinary Leaders' Summit on Afghanistan on 12 October in virtual format," the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement on Monday.
PM Modi had earlier participated in the SCO-CSTO outreach Summit on Afghanistan. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar participated in the meeting of G20 Foreign Ministers on Afghanistan on the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York.
At least three terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) - The Resistance Front (TRF) - have been killed during an encounter in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The police informed that incriminating arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.
One of three Lashkar-e-Taiba- The Resistance Force terrorists killed in the encounter in Shopian is from Ganderbal district, said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar.
A special MP/MLA court on Monday issued a nonbailable warrant against Congress UP president Ajay Kumar Lallu in a defamation case.
The court passed the order as Lallu was absent during the course of the trial.
The court had given him ''last opportunity'' for cross-examination of a prosecution witness.

Government to ramp up per day coal production from 1.94 million tonnes to 2 million tonnes per day in next 5 days, news agency ANI quoted government sources as saying.
States are not mining enough and are not picking up stocks from Coal India despite reminders, also contributed to the current situation. States like Delhi and Punjab had shut main coal plants, it reported.
Maharashtra To Reopen Cinema Halls With 50% Seating Capacity From Oct 22
Maharashtra government has issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reopen auditorium and cinema halls across the state from October 22.
As per the guidelines issued by the state government, cinema halls, theatres and multiplexes will be allowed to open with 50 per cent seating capacity.

After KV Subramanian's resignation, Amit Khare who is a Former Secretary (HRD), information and broadcasting (I&B), an IAS officer of the 1985 batch, has been appointed as the advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Khare retired as the secretary (higher education) on September 30.
“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment Shri Amit Khare, IAS (Retd.) (JH:1985) as Advisor to the Prime Minister in Prime Minister's Office, in the rank and scale of Secretary to Government of India, on contract basis, as per other usual terms and conditions as are applicable in the case of re-employed officers of Secretary level in Government of India, initially for a period of two years or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” an order said.

Breaking News LIVE: Fire Breaks Out At West Bengal Secretariat, No Casualties Reported
A fire broke out at chief minister Mamata Banerjee's office on the 14th floor of the West Bengal Secretariat on Tuesday.
After the workers of Nabanna saw smoke coming out of the 14th floor this afternoon they informed the fire department and disaster management teams reached the spot.
According to the latest updates, the blaze has been brought under control, however, the reason for the fire is still being probed.
No casualties have been reported in the state secretariat which is closed for Durga Puja.
