Delhi: AAP MLA Raaj Kumar Anand To Take Oath As Minister
AAP MLA Raaj Kumar Anand will take oath as a minister in a ceremony in Raj Niwas in Delhi on Thursday morning, a Delhi government official said.
Anand will be administered oath of office by Lt Governor VK Saxena at the ceremony to be held at 10 AM on Thursday, the official said.
Anand, MLA from Patel Nagar Assembly seat, is replacing Rajendra Pal Gautam in Arvind Kejriwal cabinet, he said on Wednesday.
Gautam who held charge of Social Welfare minister resigned last month from the post after he was embroiled in a controversy over his presence in a religious conversion programme.
Anand will take charge of his office after being administered oath, at Delhi Secretariat, the official added.
Nirmala Sitharaman To Launch 6th Round Of Commercial Coal Mines Auction
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will launch the sixth round of commercial coal mines auction on Thursday.
Sitharaman will be the chief guest at the launch event to be held in the national capital. The coal mines to be auctioned are fully-explored and partially-explored coking and non-coking mines, the coal ministry said in a statement.
Coal minister Pralhad Joshi and Minister of State for coal, mines and railways Raosaheb Patil Danve will be the guests of honour for the event.
"Details of the mines, auction terms, timelines etc. can be accessed on MSTC auction platform," the coal ministry said in a statement.
The auction will be held in online mode through a transparent two-stage process, on the basis of percentage revenue share.
The coal ministry has so far auctioned 64 mines under commercial coal mines auction, which was launched in 2020.
Former Gujarat Congress MLA Indranil Rajguru Rejoins Party
Indranil Rajguru, who had earlier quit the Congress to join AAP in Gujarat, rejoined Congress in Delhi on Friday. "We were always with Congress, even my family didn't approve when I quit. I had joined AAP to defeat BJP but felt that they mislead people just like BJP," news agency ANI quoted him as saying.
Railways Brings Back Old Platform Ticket Prices
In a major relief to passengers, Railways has rolled back the platform ticket rates that were increased from ₹30 to ₹50 due to Diwali and Chhath Puja. The platform ticket prices will now be available at earlier prices.
