Congress To Hold Silent Protests Across Rajasthan Against 'Attack' On Nyay Yatra In Assam

The Rajasthan Congress announced Monday that it will hold a'silent satyagraha' in district headquarters across the state on January 23 to protest the alleged attack on Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Assam.

It also accused the BJP and Assam's government of attempting to disrupt the yatra.

The Congress claimed on Sunday that its leaders were "attacked" by BJP supporters during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, with Gandhi, who was heckled by a crowd chanting slogans like "Jai Shri Ram" and "Modi, Modi," asserting that his party is not afraid of the prime minister or the Assam chief minister.

A Congress spokesperson claimed that the BJP and the Assam government attempted to halt Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

"BJP members are causing disruptions by attacking the yatra. All district Congress committees will protest this by holding a'silent satyagraha' from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday in front of Mahatma Gandhi statues or portraits in all district headquarters," he told news agency PTI.
