Welcome to the ABP News HIGHLIGHTS, Friday, 19th February 2021: Four Chinese officers and soldiers were killed in the clash with Indian soldiers last year at Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh, China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) has officially admitted for the first time. The four officers and soldiers were honoured by the Central Military Commission of China (CMC), the PLA Daily, the official newspaper of the Chinese military, reported on Friday.

The civic authorities in Mumbai today clamped down with fresh safety measures as Covid numbers in the state and the city remained in an upward trajectory for a week, logging over 5000 cases on Thursday. Mumbai reported 736 cases. Citizens flouting rules for home isolation, weddings and public gatherings will be prosecuted, said an order from  Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal.

Petrol and diesel prices were on Friday hiked for the 11th day in a row in the national capital even as India has urged global oil producers to ease production cuts.

While the rate of petrol was increased by 31 paise, that of diesel was raised by 33 paise, according to a price notification of state-owned fuel retailers. The hike took the petrol price in Delhi to a record ₹90.19 per litre. Diesel rate climbed to ₹80.60 a litre.

4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh

An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter scale hit Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh on Friday afternoon. According to the National Centre of Seismology (NCS), the quake was reported at 4:38 pm with its epicentre being at a depth of 33 km north-northeast of Pithoragarh.

Climate activist Disha Ravi has been sent to three-day judicial custody by Patiala House Court in connection with the ‘Toolkit’ conspiracy case related to the farmers’ agitation. Disha was earlier produced in the Patiala House Court. During the hearing, public prosecutor said that Disha Ravi has to be confronted with the co-accused that is why Police need 3-day judicial custody.

Disha Ravi Blames Nikita, Shantanu During Questioning, Says Police

The Delhi Police on Friday told a city court that climate activist Disha Ravi has been evasive in giving replies during the interrogation and shifted the blame onto co-accused Nikita Jacob and Shantanu Muluk. The police requested the court to send her to three-day judicial custody, as they have served a notice to co-accused Shantanu, who will join the investigation on February 22, following which both will be confronted.

"She has been evasive in giving replies. We have served notice to co-accused Shantanu who will join the investigation on February 22. She has to be confronted with the co-accused," Public Prosecutor Irfan Ahmed told the court. Metropolitan Magistrate Akash Jain will pronounce the order on the police application seeking three-day judicial custody shortly.

Disha Ravi Produced To Patiala High Court, Order Reserved For 4 PM

Climate activist Disha Ravi, who was arrested Delhi Police in the ‘Toolkit’ conspiracy case related to the farmers’ agitation, has been produced in the Patiala House Court on Friday. During the hearing, public prosecutor said that Disha Ravi has to be confronted with the co-accused that is why Police need 3-day judicial custody.

On behalf of Delhi Police, public prosecutor tells the court that Disha Ravi has been in giving replies. The lawyer also said that co-accused Shantanu will join the probe on Feb 22 adding that Disha has now shifted the blame on Nikita and Shantanu. Meanwhile, Court has reserved its order for 4 pm.
