Cyclone Asani Likely To Form Over Bay Of Bengal On May 8
The first cyclonic storm of the 2022 North Indian Ocean cyclone season, Cyclone Asani, is expected to form in the Bay of Bengal on Sunday, May 8, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
On Saturday morning, a well-defined low-pressure region is centred over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the surrounding south Andaman Sea, according to the latest information.

Asani's presence and progress in the Bay of Bengal may generate isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall throughout the Andaman and Nicobar Islands for the next 24 hours, followed by just heavy showers.
As a result, islanders have been advised to avoid going into flood-prone regions, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands government has been directed to halt all fishing and tourism operations due to adverse sea conditions.
President Kovind To Inaugarate IIM Nagpur Campus On Sunday
Tomorrow, May 8, 2022, President Ram Nath Kovind will visit Maharashtra to inaugurate the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur, which was founded in 2015. The Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement on Saturday that Kovind will open the permanent campus of IIM Nagpur in Dahegaon in Nagpur on Sunday.
The opening of IIM Nagpur is set for 10 a.m. For security considerations, the institution has asked that guests be seated by 9 a.m.
"We are delighted to inform you that the Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, shall be inaugurating the Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM-N) New Campus on May 8 at 10 AM at MIHAN Nagpur. For security reasons, kindly be seated by 9:00 am," IIM Nagpur tweeted.

Navjot Sidhu To Meet Punjab CM To Discuss 'Revival' Of State's Economy
Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu said he will meet Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday to discuss the revival of the state's economy, days after he had called the CM a "younger brother" and an "honest man".
"Will meet CM @BhagwantMann tomorrow at 5:15 PM in Chandigarh to discuss matters regarding the revival of Punjab's economy . . . Punjab's Resurrection is only possible with an honest collective effort . . .," said Sidhu in a tweet on Sunday.

Maharashtra: Girl was found with cloth around her neck, lying on the floor in train's washroom
At around 1235 hrs, some info was received regarding 12471 Swaraj Express. A special halt was given at Dahanu Road RS at 13:10 hrs after passengers informed that a 20-yr-old girl went inside the washroom & did not come out for a long time: Western Railway CPRO informed, as reported by ANI.
The girl was found with a cloth around her neck, lying on the floor, as the train staff opened the latch. She was immediately sent to Dahanu Cottage Hospital. A further report is awaited.
