Breaking News LIVE, September 4, 2021: After forcing Ashraf Ghani to flee Afghanistan, the Taliban is all set to form a government in the war-torn country on Saturday.
If sources are to be believed then Taliban co-founder Mullah Baradar is most likely to lead the new Afghan government.
A TOLO news reporter said that Baradar will be announced as the Prime Minister of Afghanistan.
All eyes are on the Taliban whether Afghanistan's new rulers will keep their promise of a more "inclusive" government and be more accommodating than during their first stint in power from 1996 to 2001, which was notorious for its brutal and violent interpretation of Sharia, and its treatment of women.
Women were not allowed to work and denied freedom of movement and girls were banned from school.
News agency Reuters reported on Friday that the Taliban have taken full control of Afghanistan, including the Panjshir valley. "By the grace of Allah Almighty, we are in control of the entire Afghanistan. The troublemakers have defeated and Panjshir is now under our command," a Taliban commander told Reuters.
