Security forces on Monday recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in J&K's Poonch district, police said.
Police sources said in a joint operation carried out by army and the police in Deri Dabsi village along the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar area, arms and ammunition were recovered.
"The recovery includes one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, 2 pistols and 2 pistol magazines.
"An FIR has been lodged in Mendhar police station under the relevant sections of law in this case," a source said.
With the number of Covid-19 cases coming down in Andhra Pradesh, the state government on Monday decided to lift the night curfew.
Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review meeting on the prevailing situation of Covid-19. As the positivity rate and the number of cases have come down, it was decided to lift the night curfew.
During the review meeting, he said that Covid precautions must be taken at all times, especially in the public and commercial spaces, by wearing masks. He directed the authorities to continue the fever survey and told them to conduct tests for those with symptoms. The Chief Minister also stressed the need to achieve 100 percent vaccination.
Also, Special judge Ambalal R. Patel will on Tuesday hear the arguments of the defence in the 2008 Ahmedabad serial bomb blasts case.
The prosecution on Monday concluded the arguments on the quantum of sentence to be awarded to the 49 convicts.
Last Tuesday, the special court judge had convicted 49 persons and acquitted 28 others, 13 years after a series of coordinated bomb blasts killed 56 people and left more than 200 injured in Ahmedabad in little over an hour on July 26, 2008.
Special public prosecutor Sudhir Brahmbhatt said, "The court heard the prosecution on Monday. It will hear the defence on Tuesday. The court has barred print and electronic media from reporting the details of the arguments on the quantum of sentence until the final verdict is awarded. The court also said that the details of the arguments made by the accused and their lawyers as well as the prosecution should not be published in print or electronic media until the final verdict is pronounced."
