Would Marry Ex-Wife Melinda 'All Over Again' Despite Divorce, Says Bill Gates

Bill Gates and Melinda announced their divorce in May 2021 after almost 30 years of marriage. It was finalized in August 2021.

New Delhi: Microsoft company founder and veteran billionaire Bill Gates on Monday said that he would choose to marry his ex-wife Melinda French Gates “all over again”. 

Bill Gates and Melinda announced their divorce in May 2021 after almost 30 years of marriage. It was finalized in August 2021. The couple announced that they would continue to run the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation together. They have three children (Jenner, Rory and Phoebe).

Speaking to the Sunday Times, Bill Gates described the last two years as "pretty dramatic". He said that with the Covid-19 pandemic and their divorce, the "weirdest part" for him has been the abandonment of his children. Gates also talked about his current working relationship with his ex-wife. He told how he felt about the end of the marriage.

Bill Gates said that every marriage goes through a transition after the children grow up and leave the family home. Despite this, he described his marriage as great. Bill Gates from the Sunday Times said that I would not have changed it.

“I wouldn't have changed it. You know, I wouldn't choose to marry someone else,” the Microsoft founder told Sunday Times. 

When asked if he would remarry Melinda French Gates, the philanthropist answered: “Yes. I'm talking about would I marry Melinda all over again. In terms of my future, I don't have any plans, but I highly recommend marriage.”

Gates admitted that he did not know that he was slowly moving towards his divorce. He said that he feels lucky that he still gets a chance to work with his ex-wife. 

Bill Gates said that he believes he is still friends with his ex-wife. He has an over-important, complicated and close relationship with Melinda. So both have decided to work together.

"And I'm very happy that we get to work together. You know, we built the Foundation together,” Mr Gates said.
