Batla House Encounter Case: Delhi Court Hold Accused Ariz Khan Guilty Of Killing Delhi Police Inspector
Batla House Encounter Case: An alleged Indian Mujahideen operative, the 35-year-old Ariz Khan was on the run since the 2008 Batla House encounter in Delhi. He was arrested in 2018 from Banbasa near the Nepal border in Uttarakhand. The Delhi Police Special Team arrested him for his suspected involvement in the five bomb blast cases.
In a major development in the Batla House Encounter case, a Delhi Court on Monday held accused Ariz Khan guilty in the case related to the 2008.
An alleged Indian Mujahideen operative, the 35-year-old Khan was on the run since the 2008 Batla House encounter in Delhi. He was arrested in 2018 from Banbasa near the Nepal border in Uttarakhand. The Delhi Police Special Team arrested him for his suspected involvement in the five bomb blast cases.

At the time of the arrest, Police had said that Ariz was associated with Atif Amin, who was killed in Batala House encounter, police said. He was present at Batla House, along with four others, and had managed to give police the slip during the encounter on September 19, 2008 in Delhi's Jamia Nagar
The Batla House encounter took place on September 19, 2008, when a team of the Delhi Police Special Cell raided a Batla House flat, following a tip-off that terrorists allegedly involved in the September 13, 2008 serial blasts in the national capital were holed up there.
The incident took place against Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists in Batla House locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi.
In the course of raid, Delhi Police killed two IM terrorists Atif Amin and Mohamed Sajid and two other suspects were arrested.
During the raid, a decorated police officer Inspector and Encounter specialist Mohan Chand Sharma, who led the police action, was also killed. Around 165 people died in the incidents of crime that Khan was involved in.
