Auto Market Reports 9.5% Surge During Festive Season Despite Covid Downturn; Check Performance Of Leading Carmakers

New Delhi: Despite Indian economy reeling under the aftermaths of the nationwide lockdown in the view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Indian Automotive Industry, which has been down since the 2018, has seen a booming growth in the festive season. How Different Auto Companies Performed During The Nov 2020 Festive Season:
Kia Motors India
It is worth noting that less than a year-old Korean automaker Kia Motors India reported a 50 per cent increase in sales by selling 21,022 units in November 2020. The newly launched flagship model of the brand, Sonnet recorded a sale of 11,417 unit across the country, while the Seltos through which the company made its debut in the Indian automotive market played the supporting role this year by selling 9,205 units last
MG Motors
Meanwhile MG Motors, on Tuesday said it had sold 4,163 units in the month of November, its highest-ever retail sales. This was a year-on-year growth of 28.5 per cent when compared to figures in the same month of 2019 and one of the key reasons for this is the positive response to Gloster, its latest and most premium offering in the country.
Toyota Kirloskar
Indian arm of Japanese automaker, Toyota Kirloskar on the other hand reported a sale of 8,508 units with a year-on-year growth of 2.4% when compared to figures from the same month in 2019. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki the country's largest car maker sold 138,956 units in the domestic market, the company reported 1.7 per cent rise in sales year on year.
Mahindra and Mahindra
Contributing to the number of units sold, Mahindra and Mahindra announced that its overall auto sales for the month of November 2020 stood at 42,731 vehicles marking a year-on-year rise of 4 per cent as compared to November last year when the carmaker could manage to sell 41,235 units.
