After Spike In Prices By Indian Car Makers, BMW Hikes Prices Of Its Entire Model Range

Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India, said that the increasing input costs have led to the pulling up of the prices of the entire model range.

The Indian arm of the German luxury carmaker BMW India, on Monday announced to increase the price of all BMW and Mini models from January 2021, due to heavy input costs. The carmaker has announced to hike the prices by two per cent across the entire model range. ALSO READ | After Maruti Suzuki, Renault To Hike Prices Of Kwid, Duster & Others From Jan 1, 2021 - Here's Why Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India, said that the increasing input costs have led to the pulling up of the prices of the models. “From 4 January 2021, BMW Group India will introduce the new pricing for BMW and MINI portfolio, increasing the prices marginally by up to 2% to offset the increasing input costs," said Vikram Pawah. "This will ensure that customer satisfaction, dealer profitability, and sustainable growth, which are fundamentals of a successful business, remain strong,” he further added. BMW India has a wide range of products ranging from sedans to SUVs and even sports-cars. The model line-up includes the 3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series, X1, X3, X4, X5, X7, 3 Series GT, 6 Series GT. Models from the M and Z range including the M2 Competition, M4 Coupe, M5 Competition, M760 Li, and the Z4 are CBU units imported into the country. Mini dealerships have MINI 3-door, MINI 5-door, MINI Convertible, MINI Clubman, and MINI John Cooper Works Hatch on offer. ALSO READ | Volvo S60 Review- A Luxury Sedan That Drives Itself The price range of BMW in India starts at Rs 43.26 lakh (ex-showroom price Delhi) for the X1 model and goes up to Rs 2.52 crores (ex-showroom price Delhi). The German automaker offers 19 car models in India, including 8 cars in the SUV/MUV category, 6 cars in Sedan category, 4 cars in the Coupe category, 1 car in the Convertible category Apart from BMW, economy car makers in the country like Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Renault, Mahindra and Mahindra, Ford are among brands that have also announced price hikes on their products on offer to come in effect from January. India’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp has also announced that it will increase the price of its vehicles by up to ₹1,500 from January 1, 2021, to offset the impact of rising input costs. Among luxury carmakers, Audi also expected to hike the ex-showroom prices of its models while others are expected to follow.
