‘Anything For Your Vote!’ – The Humorous Stints Of The Candidates In Tamil Nadu Election Campaign

DMK's Udhayanidhi Stalin has found the right pulse of the audience by staging satirical comments as the fun factor in every canvassing. His campaign video from Virudhunagar went viral as he took out a single brick stone in his hand and presented it to the voters.

As the election nears the campaigns in the Tamil Nadu assembly constituencies are taking a hilarious turn. Some of the candidates regardless of their party have taken their game seriously. Though the eleventh-hour election drama is not new to the state, washing the clothes of the voters and campaigning among the stray dogs were least expected among them.

It was during one of the campaigns in the Nagapattinam constituency, the AIADMK nominated Thanga Kathiravan stormed among a group of women who were washing clothes. To everyone’s shock, he volunteered to wash the clothes they were holding while the supporters around were crying out loud, “Vetriyin chinnam irattai ilai, Ungal Vottu irattai ilaikkae” propagating two leaves as the symbol of victory. People took it over to social media to criticize this explicit stint for the vote.

In another incident AIADMK Candidate of Paramakudi constituency, Sadan Prabhakar took up a sudden adrenaline rush and as a result, he was found dancing disco among the women voters of his constituency. The video went viral on social media.

The DMK candidate for Thiruvottiyur constituency, KPP Sankar was found exhibiting his boxing skills while campaigning but his wooing mission failed as the referee of the match stole his show by jumping for joy.

Remember the time when BJP’s H.Raja called out Tamil Nadu farmers as anti-nationals? However, it didn’t take him a moment to become one. The online campaign videos of Raja found him driving a tractor, handing some fodder for his cattle while the famous Tamil song ‘Vivasayee’ meaning farmer was playing in the background. He is fielded by the party in Karaikudi Constituency.

In another video, PMK leader Anbumani was promoting his party symbol mango saying it's the season of mangoes. People on social media took a mockery of his propaganda quoting how mango is off-season in the state.

DMK's Udhayanidhi Stalin has found the right pulse of the audience by staging satirical comments as the fun factor in every canvassing. His campaign video from Virudhunagar went viral as he took out a single brick stone in his hand and presented it to the voters. He took a mockery at the centres' struck up effort in constructing the Institute of medical sciences at the region saying, 'I have brought with me the AIIMS hospital built at Madurai. The laugh riot at his comment was well perceptible.

Independent candidates are no exception to such weirdness. Tamil actor and Independent candidate from Thondamuthur was pleading to stray dogs in his constituency to vote for him in the election. Yes, you imagined it right!

ABP CVoter Opinion Poll 2021: Jayalalithaa's Absence May Hurt AIADMK, Stalin-Led DMK Strong In TN Assembly Election

When all other candidates were adjuring people for vote one independent candidate from Madurai had taken it literally when he was found in front of the district collectorate wearing torn clothes begging for vote and money to contest in the election.

With the poll ahead in two weeks, this rib-tickling show for vote gain is not yet over.
