World Ocean Day: 'Main Hoon Aparajita' Actress Shweta Gulati Talks About Her Love For The Oceans And Marine Life Protection

On World Ocean Day, 'Main Hoon Aparajita' actress Shweta Gulati opened up on her love for the oceans and the need to keep them clean, especially from plastic waste, in order to protect marine animals.

New Delhi: World Ocean Day, celebrated every year on June 8, serves as a reminder of the significant role that oceans play in our daily lives. They serve as the Earth's lungs, provide essential food and chemicals that are useful in treating humans, and are vital components of the biosphere. The day takes place annually on the 8th of June, and the objective of the same is to raise public awareness about the consequences of human activities in the ocean.

On this World Ocean Day, 'Main Hoon Aparajita' actress Shweta Gulati opened up on her love for the oceans and the need to keep them clean, especially from plastic waste, in order to protect marine animals.

Shweta Gulati who essays the role of Mohini in Zee TV’s Main Hoon Aparajita mentioned, "I am someone who loves spending my spare time on beaches, I am a beach baby. I love how the waves always manage to calm my nerves, and it amuses me every time I witness such wonders of nature. But, I believe collaborative efforts are crucial for the preservation of the thriving and beneficial oceans because it is the essence of our planet."

"Plastic pollution has infiltrated even the most secluded islands and deepest parts of the ocean. We have no right to harm these aquatic animals because of our lifestyle and habits, the least we need to do is to make a simple effort to dispose of the waste in the dustbins. I urge everyone to take measures to rejuvenate the ocean's well-being.", she further went on to add.

The theme for World Ocean Day this year is 'Planet Ocean: tides are Changing' which presents the paradox of hope and concern for oceans. Although more individuals are becoming aware of the harm that humans have done to the oceans, the degradation of the ocean ecosystems is still happening one by one as a result of the effects of our activities.
