World’s Happiest Country To Pay For 10 To Explore And Learn The Finnish Way

Finland, the world's happiest country for the past six years, is now looking to teach the rest of the world 'the art of being happy'. Read on to know more.

Finland will pay ten people to visit the European country and attend a happiness masterclass.

Finland was named the world's happiest country for the sixth year in a row this month in the annual World Happiness Report.

The Nordic country is hosting a four-day happiness masterclass in June, and the tourism board has announced that ten lucky applicants will be able to attend for free. When it becomes available online, others will be able to study (and hopefully cheer) up virtually.

"A common question we get is, 'How are you so happy?" According to Heli Jimenez, senior director of international marketing at Business Finland. "Finnish happiness, we believe, stems from our close relationship with nature and our down-to-earth lifestyle: it's not some mystical state, but a skill that can be learned and shared," she was quoted as saying by the New York Post.

Finland's tourism board is now looking for ten people from around the world who will bring their "inner Finn" to the country for free.

The lucky ten will attend a four-day "masterclass of happiness" course in June (Finland's summer) at the Kuru Resort in the Finnish Lakeland region.

Finland is positioning itself as uniquely positioned to meet the challenge, having recently reclaimed the top spot in the World Happiness Report.

About Finland's Masterclass Of Happiness:

As per the report, the application for the vacation included a sign-up form as well as a social media challenge. Individuals could apply alone or with a friend or partner.

Selected individuals' travel expenses would be covered, and they would stay in an exclusive private villa at a resort designed specifically with fragrances, sounds, and materials to help guests relax. The lakefront resort is nestled in a pine forest, it added.

There will be no televisions in the rooms because the resort promotes "digital detox," but there will be Wi-Fi access. Each villa also has its own spa and sauna, according to NYT.

The course is divided into four themes: nature crafts, food for the soul and body, forest and lake exercise, calming sounds and music, and the Finnish way of life in general.

The course will take place at the resort from June 12 to 15, with ten selected participants from around the world arriving on June 11 and departing on June 16.

The World Happiness Report's list of happiest nations, which Finland continues to top, is largely based on Gallup World Poll evaluations of factors such as GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom, generosity, and corruption.
