When Nitin Gadkari Shared His Favourite 'Vada' Recipe From Pune That He Had Figured Out 'By Eating It A Number Of Times'
Being a Maharashtrian, Gadkari particularly enjoys vadas, and with great enthusiasm, he recounts a memorable vada recipe he savoured at a Pune eatery.
Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari not just loves food and enjoys trying new dishes, but he liked to note their recipes too. Being a vegetarian- samosas, pakodas, vegetarian chinese, vadas and poha are some of his favourites. In a recent interview with Curly Tales, Nitin Gadkari openly expressed his passion for food. Being a Maharashtrian, Gadkari particularly enjoys vadas, and with great enthusiasm, he recounts a memorable vada recipe he savoured at a Pune eatery.
"Boil the potatoes and mash them, then add lemon, black salt, ginger paste, onion paste and garlic paste. After this, add roughly chopped chillies and cook. There is no haldi and all, yet tastes beautiful," he told Curly Tales, mentioning that the recipe was not shared by the food chain but he figured it out by eating them a number of times.
In addition to this, he also mentioned that he likes to eat "Santra Barfi" and went on to share that recipe too. "First prepare an ornage power from the fruit and then add it to khoya to prepare santre ki barfi."
He also went on to share his love for puran poli telling that he eats it by taking a bowl of ghee and dipping the polis before biting into them.
As conversation flowed, Nitin Gadkari talked about his love for Mumbai and its food. Mentioning the Mumbai-delicacies he enjoys eating, he told CurlyTales, "I like Mumbai's bhel, pav bhaji, pulau, vada pav, sandwich."
Lastly, India’s Expressway Man disclosed that he had a hearty appetite in the past and could consume six samosas in a single sitting. The Minister recollected fond memories of indulging in a diverse range of foods, including dosa, pulao, pizza, and a substantial kesar milkshake all in one meal. Also, prior to his bariatric surgery, he recalled enjoying five to six plates of pakodas accompanied with tamarind chutney.
