Kitchen Hacks: Don't Throw Sour Milk, Here Are Ways You Can Reuse It

Kitchen Hacks: When milk turns sour many people throw it away considering it is bad for health. Sour milk does not cause any harm, instead, it provides many benefits.

Best Use of Sour Milk: If the milk is not stored properly at the right temperature, it starts tasting bad. Sometimes the milk turns sour while we boil it. Many people don't know what to do with the milk when it turns sour.

Although some make cheese from sour milk, most throw away the water after straining the cheese. It is important to note that the water from sour milk is also rich in nutrients and can be consumed. 

1- Make Cheese (Paneer) When the milk turns sour you can use it to make cheese. You can add few lemon drops, yogurt, or vinegar to it. This will further drop the pH level and lumps will start to appear on the surface. Strain it in a cotton cloth. It will keep the cheese on top while the water will drain out of the fabric. This way you can prepare cheese at home.

2- To knead the dough You can also use sour milk to knead the dough. This will make the dough soft and also pumps more rich protein in it. The rotis made out of this dough will be soft. These soft rotis would also taste better.

3- Use for cooking rice You can also cook rice with sour milk. You can strain the sour milk and use its water to cook rice. The rice will taste exceptionally good after they have been cooked with this water. This rice will also provide more carbohydrates and protein to the body. You can also use this water to boil noodles and pasta. 

4- Cook vegetables Sour milk can also be used to cook vegetables You can also prepare the Indian paneer dish from the cheese collected from the sour milk. This paneer will be loaded with proteins. In addition, add the water leftover from the sour milk to cook the paneer dish. This will enhance the taste of the paneer and increase the percentage of nutrients.
