When Is Haryali Teej 2022?
This year, the date of Hariyali Teej is July 31. Hariyali Teej is observed on the third day of Shukla Paksha of the Sawan month, according to the Hindu calendar.
What Is The Significance Of Haryali Teej?
Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are honoured in this festival. Hariyali Teej occurs during the monsoon or rainy season (Sawan/Shravan). Parents of married women send Sindhara (a bucket of presents) to their daughters and in-laws on this day. It includes homemade candy, Heena, Ghewar, bangles, etc.
Hariyali Teej is sometimes referred to as Sindhara Teej because it is customary for parents to send Sindhara to their daughter and her spouse. Chhoti Teej and Shravana Teej are other names for Hariyali Teej. In contrast, Kajari Teej, also known as Badi Teej, occurs fifteen days following Hariyali Teej.
As per Hindu mythology, it is believed that, for several years, Goddess Parvati fasted and practised austerity. On this tithi (day) in her 108th birth, Lord Shiva accepted her as his wife.
What Should Be In The Haryali Teej Pujan Samagri List?
The list starts with the idols of Maa Parvati and Shiva. Along with this, yellow clothes, raw cotton, new clothes, banana leaves, belpatra, hemp, datura, Shami leaves, janeu, jaggery, coconut, betel nut, urn, akshat or rice, durva grass, ghee, camphor, Abir-gulal, quince, sandalwood, cow's milk, Gangajal, panchamrit curd, sugar candy, honey, etc. are included.
Apart from the above-mentioned samagri, be sure to include Shringaar Vastu (things to be offered to Mata Parvati) vermilion, bindi, bangles, mahor, shell, kumkum, comb, nettle, henna, mirror, and perfume, etc.
What Is The Puja Vidhi?
- Getting up early, taking a bath, and dressing in clean clothes are the first and most important steps.
- Installing the idols of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and Ganesha is the second step. Installing the entire Shiva family's idol at the place of worship is also an option. Worship Lord Ganesha, Goddess Parvati, and Lord Shiva after that.
- The next step involves the offering make-up items like bangles, vermilion, bindi, mehndi, and other items to Goddess Parvati. Along with this, offer clothes to Lord Shiva as well.
- After that, the actual puja beings with listening to the story of Hariyali Teej Vrat by lighting a ghee lamp and in the end performing the aarti of Mother Parvati.
- Suhagan women should give makeup items to their mother-in-law or sister and law or other Suhagan women as a gift.
