Ramzan 2021 Mubarak: Holy Month Of Fasting To Begin In India Tomorrow - Check Wishes, Messages, Pics To Share With Your Loved Ones

Happy Ramadan 2021 Wishes: The holy month of Ramadan will be observed in India from Wednesday (14 April) onward since no moon has been sighted in the country on Monday.

Ramadan, popular as Ramzaan in India, is the holiest month in the Islamic calendar for Muslims across the world who observe strict fast starting from dawn to dusk. Muslims eagerly wait for this time of the year. The holy month of Ramadan will be observed in India from Wednesday (14 April) onward since no moon has been sighted in the country on Monday.

In absence of any evidence of moon sighting from any part of India, the first day of Ramadan in India will be April 14, 2021, according to Markazi Hilal Committee New Delhi. Like last year, Ramzaan celebrations, this year, too, will get impacted because of the pandemic with authorities already imposing restrictions in several states.

Saudi Arabia has confirmed Tuesday (April 13) to be the first day of Ramadan. Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court confirmed the date on Monday evening. The crescent moon was sighted by Saudi authorities, according to GulfNews. Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and the other Arab states along with Turkey will observe the first day of Ramzaan on Tuesday (April 13).

Muslims during the holy month follow strict self-discipline, and charity remains at the heart of the community during this holy month.  The fasting calls for not eating food or even drinking water between sunrise and sunset for the entire month.

The ninth month in the Islamic calendar is believed to be the holiest when Muslims abstain from drinking, eating or indulging in any immoral acts and avoid anger.  During this time people read Quran believing that previous sins will be forgiven.

The fasting is observed for 29-30 days from the first sighting of the crescent moon to the other before culminating on Eid-ul-Fitr. The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr is considered the most auspicious days in the Islamic calendar.
