First, the cashew nuts are sun-dried for two to three days in an open yard. The nuts are rolled over on a regular basis to ensure uniform drying. The excess moisture in the nuts is removed during this process. The nuts are then heated before the outer shell covers are cracked to extract the edible cashew kernel. Following that, women sit down and use their hands to separate the edible cashew kernels and open the nuts.
The peeling process involves passing cashew kernels through compressed air and brushing them to remove the Testa (outer skin) that has become attached to them. Following that, the final cleaning process occurs, in which women sit to separate impurities from cashew kernels.
The cashew kernels are then roasted in specially designed ovens that are kept at 70 degrees Celsius until they are ready to be sold in the market.
People praised the workers, who, despite coming from different communities, worked together harmoniously. However, some people were concerned about the cleanliness of the facility as well as the procedure.
