Alleged drug overdose claims lives of three police aspirants during physical tests
New Delhi: According to reports, three candidates died during the physical screening test for recruitment of constables in Haryana police in Kurukshetra due to the alleged overdose of performance enhancing drugs.
All the three men recently collapsed during the test which is being conducted by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission(HSSC). The exact reason behind the deaths is yet to be known.
Oddly, around 100 aspirants have been admitted to the hospital due to physical exhaustion ever since the physical screening started. Reportedly, all these patients were suffering from anxiety, restlessness and low blood pressure when they came to the hospital.
Though the doctors didn't want to confirm the intake of drugs until the reports of chemical examinations were received, it is being suspected that the men were taking synthetic drugs to enhance their endurance levels to clear the tests.
Over 5 lakh candidates have applied for the posts of 5000 constables that HSSC plans to hire. Physical tests for aspirants started on June 15 and will go until July 12.
