Achala Saptami 2021: Date, Time, Significance, Puja Vidhi & More About The Auspicious Day
Also known as Bhanu Saptami or Arogya Saptami, Achala Saptami has special significance in Hinduism.
The Achala Saptami in the Magha month is considered to be very auspicious among the other Saptami dates throughout the year. Also known as Bhanu Saptami or Arogya Saptami, Achala Saptami has special significance in Hinduism. According to the Hindu Mythology, the Sun was born this day and hence, the day is also marked as Surya Jayanti.
On this day, devotees pray the Sun early in the morning and even take a dip in the holy water in River Ganga or any nearby lake/pond. After bath, devotees eat fruits, perform fast, pray Suryadev and seek his blessings and luck. This year Achala Saptami is on 19 February 2021 (Friday).

Achala Saptami Puja Vidhi:
On the morning of Achala Saptami, place seven oak leaves on the forehead and mediate sun. Then splash a sugercame in water before taking bath in there. Light a lamp and pray suryadev. Then fill rice in a copper vessel and donate it. Those who cannot bathe in the river, they can bathe by remembering the Ganges and adding Ganges water.
