'Result Of 40% Commission Govt': DK Shivakumar As Bengaluru Metro Pillar Collapse Kills 2

An under-construction metro pillar collapsed in Bengaluru's Nagavara leaving two people dead

In a scathing attack after an under-construction metro pillar collapsed in Bengaluru's Navagara leaving two dead, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President DK Shivakumar said, "This is the result of the  '40 per cent commission' government. There is no quality in development works."

On Tuesday at 10.45 AM, under-construction metro pillar collapsed and hit a bike, on which four people were travelling near Nagavara in Bengaluru. Father Lohith and mother Tejaswini and twins (one son and daughter).

The deceased have been identified as Tejaswini and Vihan, who died at a hospital. The other two are out of danger.

Police said that they have registered a case and investigation will follow. The incident resulted in a traffic jam for some time along the stretch.

Reacting to the incident, Congress MLA Sowmya Reddy said, "It's very shocking that an under-construction pillar fell on a woman and child. Until now there were pothole deaths now pillars are collapsing. This is a clear case of violation, negligence and corruption of the BJP govt."

Demanding Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai's resignation, the Congress leader said, "It's a clear case of poor work & people have succumbed to it. Now, people of Bengaluru & Karnataka are fed up."
