'No Dissent In Congress': K'taka Chief DK Shivakumar As Party Releases First List Of Candidates For Assembly Polls

Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023: In this election, Congress has allotted seats to party leaders and their scions.

Karnataka Congress Chief DK Shivakumar said that there is no dissent in Congress after the release of the first list of 124 candidates for Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023.

Addressing the reporters after the announcement, DK Shivakumar as per IANS said, "There is no dissent with regard to 124 seats for which candidates have been announced. Things have been finalised after taking everyone into confidence. If at all, any crisis arises, we will sit and discuss to resolve it."

“I want all 224 constituencies. All aspirants are my people. But, when there are 10 to 15 aspirants for one seat, tickets could be given to only one. The aim is to establish a Congress government at the Vidhana Soudha,” he said.

On allotting Varuna for former CM Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar as per the report said, "Siddaramaiah has sought a ticket from Varuna. If he had asked for a ticket from Kolar constituency, we would have given it."

The Congress has allotted seats to party leaders and their scions. On Saturday, Congress announced senior leader Krishnappa as a candidate for Vijayanagar in Bengaluru and his son Priya Krishna as a candidate for Govindarajanagar in Bengaluru.

Senior leader Ramalinga Reddy is the candidate for BTM Layout in Bengaluru while his daughter Sowmya Reddy is the candidate for Jayanagar in Bengaluru. Similarly, former Union Minister V Muniyappa and his daughter Roopa Shashidhar have been allotted Devanahalli and KGF respectively.
