Karnataka MLA Takes Part In Bigg Boss Reality Show, Complaint Filed With Speaker

The complaint by Vande Mataram Social Service Organisation said that MLA Pradeep Eshwar had gone to participate in an entertainment reality programme without realising his responsibility.

Pradeep Eshwar, a Congress MLA, reportedly joined Big Boss Kannada, a 100-day reality show, as a contestant. This decision has triggered a debate among the public. As per a report on IANS, the Vande Mataram Social Service Organisation has filed a complaint with UT Khader, the Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, in response to this development. However, till now there is no clarity on whether the MLA will compete for the rest of the show of exit with his guest appearance.

The host of the show is actor Kiccha Sudeep and the show started on October 8. 

Vande Mataram Social Service Organisation's complaint said, “Pradeep Eshwar is a legislator from Chikkaballapur constituency. He is getting a salary from the state government and he needs to respond to the grievances of the people of his constituency at any given point."

Without realising his responsibility, the complaint said that the MLA had gone to participate in an entertainment reality programme.

The complaint said that the MLA should be sacked with immediate effect and his salary should be withheld. 

Several Congress workers and public took to social media platforms to express their opposition against the MLA's move. A user of X platform, Gajanand Molkere said, "I am congressman Dear @DKShivakumar @siddaramaiah @eshwar_khandre plz take action against Chikkaballapur MLA Pradeep Eshwar who entered #BigBossKannada. The people elected him for their service how come he so irresponsible."

"You pay taxes, they take home salary and allowances and even go to reality shows allegedly unconnected from the rest of the world," said another X user.

The Congress party's "dark horse" candidate, motivational speaker and training school owner Pradeep Eshwar, defeated the BJP's former Minister K. Sudhakar. He is a first-time MLA.
