Tokyo Gas develops checking system for liquid

Tokyo (Japan), Mar 28 (ANI): Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions has developed a new device called "VISCO WAVE" for measuring liquid viscosity.

Liquid viscosity is one of the most important physical attributes that are measured in various processes in the industrial world.

This device can be used in many fields where liquid viscosity must be controlled properly. Paint, liquid foods, engine oil, and cooking oil are some examples.

In the traditional method when measuring viscosity, the measuring tool should be in direct contact with the object being measured to decide the level of resistance when stirring the liquid or measuring the time needed for it passing through a thin tube.

And when measuring again, it is necessary to clean the equipment properly which makes it difficult to measure immediately.

According to Ken Abe of Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions, "We developed the 'Visco Wave' to measure the viscosity without directly touching the liquid. You just need to insert the liquid container into the device then press the start button. The device will shake the liquid container back and forth for a few seconds. Shaking will cause waves and by measuring the magnitude of the waves without touching the liquid directly, it is possible to represent the viscosity of the liquid numerically. The main point is that when you take several samples, you can measure the viscosity of the liquids by just changing the container, because the device itself does not get in touch with the liquids. "VISCO WAVE" makes it very easy to measure the viscosity at short intervals".

He added the "the machine that led to the development of the "VISCO WAVE" is a liquid inspection device used at the airport luggage inspection points".

The technology of examining the liquid in the pet bottle without touching it directly is applied to "VISCO WAVE".

He said "If the industry evolves, I think devices for measuring viscosity will be used in a very wide range of areas, such as maintenance, food, and so on. By using the technology of IOT, this device can be connected to the internet and a new value will be born".

This new technology of ensuring security without touching the liquid will contribute to a number of industries in the future.(ANI)
