Ram Rahim conviction: Situation under control in Delhi, security tightened

New Delhi [India], August 26 (ANI): Delhi Police on Friday assured that the situation is under control in the Capital, saying that the adequate security arrangements were in place to deal with any eventuality.

Speaking to ANI, Delhi Police PRO, Madhur Verma said, "I would again emphasis that the situation in Delhi is absolutely under control; everything is being monitored and reviewed. But keeping the circumstances in view which are happening in Punjab and Haryana. Section 144 has been imposed in parts of Delhi mainly regions which are near the bordering areas of Punjab and Haryana. There were also no large gatherings of followers of the Dera chief in Delhi yet, adding that adequate security arrangements were in place to deal with any eventuality."

Verma further said, "We have imposed Section 144 in all district of Delhi except Central district and North district. We also requested the people to maintain peace and cooperate with us. Restrictions have been imposed under section 144 in Muzaffarnagar, Shamali and Baghpat districts."

Following are the updates related to the case:
