PM Modi condoles death of former CM of Karnataka N Dharam Singh

New Delhi [India], July 27 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed grief over the death of former chief minister of Karnataka N. Dharam Singh.

PM Modi said his dedicated service towards society will always be remembered.

Prime Minister's Office took to twitter and wrote, "Saddened by the demise of former Karnataka CM Shri N. Dharam Singh. My thoughts are with his family & supporters in this sad hour."

He added, "Shri N. Dharam Singh had rich experience in Karnataka & national politics. His dedicated service towards society will be remembered."

N. Dharam Singh breathed his last after suffering a cardiac arrest at Bengaluru's MS Ramaiah Memorial Hospital on Thursday.

Singh was the 17th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 2004 to 2006.

He was a Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly for seven consecutive terms and a Member of Parliament representing Bidar in the 14th Lok Sabha.

Starting his political career as a socialist, he later joined the Indian National Congress and remained a staunch loyalist since then, without deserting the party.(ANI)
