Army rescues 5 foreign tourists in Gulmarg
Gulmarg (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Feb. 13 (ANI): The Indian Army on Tuesday rescued five foreign tourists, from Jammu and Kashmir's Gulmarg, who had strayed from their skiing routes and lost their way.
One Dutch, one American and three British were rescued by the Indian Army, said an official press release issued by Indian Army's Northern Command.
According to the statement, the group started skiing at around 1 pm from Apharwat, Gondola Phase II and got deviated from the original route. They skied and trekked for hours but in absence of the guide were lost and not able to find their route back to their hotel. After hours of walking, they finally reached close to an Army Camp at around 9.30 pm in a bad state and were totally exhausted.
The statement further said that the army extended every possible way to help the tourists. (ANI)
