8-year-old raped in UP

Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Feb. 21 (ANI): An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an unknown person in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district on Wednesday.

According to victim's uncle, the girl was playing in the field, when the accused allegedly abducted her and raped her.

"She was playing in the field, when the accused abducted her and raped her. When she gained her consciousness she came back home and narrated the ordeal," he said.

Hardoi Superintendent of Police, Gyananjay Singh informed that an FIR has been lodged in the matter and the accused has been arrested.

"The accused has been arrested and an FIR has been lodged in the matter. The girl is critically injured and has been sent for medical examination," Singh said. (ANI)
