'I Am At Times As Masculine As...': Tamannaah Bhatia Speaks About Her Idea Of Feminism At Ideas Of India 3.0
Pan India actor Tamannaah Bhatia spoke about feminism at length, at the ABP Network's Ideas of India Summit.
New Delhi: Tamannaah Bhatia recently attended a session titled ‘So Many Cinemas - Tamannaah's Pan India Triumph’ at ABP Network's Ideas of India Summit 2024. She was asked about feminism by moderator Ananta Natha Jha. Tamannaah responded by saying that her masculine and feminine energy is balanced.
Tamannaah shared her thoughts on feminist principles and whether men should also be feminists. She said, “I think feminism is not a quality just for women. It is for both (men and women) because it's about your belief system. It's about believing that we are human. I firmly believe that I am at times as masculine as you know as anybody else in the room who is a man because as a human being, we have both. We are half masculine and we are half feminine.”
She added, “If you ask me in the world, yes, there is an inequality. Yes, there needs to be more equality and I as an actor - I am in a position of power to push that idea and I always do that.”
She shared her sentiment of empowerment and recognition from her personal journey. The actress said, “I have worked my way and become who I have become but there are lots of people who don't have that today and yes, I think it's important that the women who don't have that power are empowered. So, I'm all for it.”
Tamannaah’s statement reflects a commitment to equity and support for initiatives aimed at uplifting women so that they too can achieve their full potential.
