ABP Ideas Of India: 'Surakshit Bachhpan, Surakshit Bharat' — With Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi
ABP Ideas Of India Summit: ABP Network is hosting its first 'Ideas of India' Summit, which will take place in Mumbai on March 25-26.
New Delhi: India, a nation of 138 crore people, has one of the highest young-to-adult population proportions in the world. India's Census 2001 had found 35.3% of the country's population in the age group of 0-14 years and 41 per cent less than 18 years of age.
Moving 20 years ahead from the data point, India has seen manifold growth. As the country remained stable during the tough economic phases — from the early 2000s global depression to the Covid-19 pandemic-induced lockdown — most of it is to be credited to the young population striving hard for a better tomorrow.
However, it is also true that the Covid pandemic has pushed a lot of children out of the formal education system, with classes shifting online across the country. A large number of school-going children from the lower economic strata were deprived of it in the absence of technology penetration into remote areas, as studies suggest.
Also, the pandemic created a situation where survival became the ultimate goal and many kids were forced to go back to earn, hence, increasing child labour.
Nobel Peace laureate Kailash Satyarthi, who has been a tireless global advocate of children’s rights and started ‘Bachpan Bachao Andolan’ to rescue children and their families from the shackles of child labour, will come on the stage of Wildstone presents ABP Network's Ideas of India summit on March 25 to discuss "Surakshit Bachhpan, Surakshit Bharat"
In conversation with him will be ABP News' Sumit Awasthi on the Ideas of India Summit platform.
Open-Minds Open Minds
The theme ‘Open-Minds Open Minds’ of ABP Network's 'Ideas of India' conclave will be visible as the two-day summit will bring different personalities representing their fields of expertise and sharing what they think the new India should look like.
