Side Effects Of Jamun: Learn Who Shouldn't Eat Indian Blackberries

The Indian blackberry has excellent medicinal properties and protects us from many diseases. While it is good for health, it can prove to be harmful at times.

The Indian blackberry, popularly known as Jamun, is also called the Java Plum. You start getting this fruit in the summer season. The fruit has medicinal properties and protects the body from many diseases. Apart from strengthening immunity, eating berries provides many other benefits. Jamun not only fulfills the lack of blood in the body, but it is also the best medicine to control blood sugar. Along with the pulp, the kernels of Jamun provide protection against many diseases. While there are no doubts about the fruit's benefits, it can prove to be harmful, too. 

Side Effects of Jamun  

Blood sugar imbalance- According to Ayurveda, the consumption of Jamun, in general, is very beneficial for people with high blood pressure. Blood sugar can be easily controlled by including the fruit or its kernel powder in the diet. However, excess consumption of this fruit can lead to low blood pressure. 

Constipation- Jamun is rich in Vitamin C. If you eat it in excessive amounts, you might have to deal with constipation. 

Acne- If you consume too many berries, they can cause problems for your skin. This can lead to an breakout of acne on the face. 

Vomiting- Many people end up vomiting after eating Jamun. If you have experienced this, it is better not to consume it. 

Disadvantages of over-consumption- People start overeating Jamun when they learn about its benefits. But doing so can be dangerous for you. It has been said in Ayurveda that any food should be consumed in limited quantity (like medicine). Sometimes, excessive consumption can cause many other diseases.
