India's Covid Tally Breaches 54 Lakh Mark With A Spike Of 92K Cases, Recovery Rate At 79.67 % Highest In The World

Coronavirus in India: India recorded 92,605 new infections in the last 24 hours as the total COVID count surged 54 lakh mark, according to the data by the Health Ministry. 94,612 people have been cured in the last 24 hours as pushing the recovery rate to 79.67 per cent.

With more than 43 lakh patients having recovered from COVID-19, India remains the country with the highest coronavirus recoveries in the world, followed by the US where 41 lakh people have recovered.
The total number of coronavirus cases now stands at 54,00,619, including 18.71 per cent cases - 10,10,824. The country reported 1,133 deaths linked to the virus, taking the total number of fatalities to 86,752, which is a relatively low 1.6% of all cases.
India also conducted a record 12 lakh tests (12,06,806) in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said. The country has doubled its testing in the past month to more than 6.36 crore tests. With a tally of over 11.88 lakh, Maharashtra has the highest number of overall coronavirus cases till now. Almost 37 per cent of all deaths reported so far in the country are from the western state. Mumbai has extended a ban on large gatherings till September 30. Delhi recorded 4,071 fresh instances of COVID-19 infections in a day taking the tally of cases in the city-state to over 2.42 lakh on Saturday. Thirty-eight new fatalities pushed the death count to 4,945. All schools in the national capital will continue to remain closed till October 5.????#CoronaVirusUpdates:
