Covid Update: India Records 55 Fresh Fatalities With 52 Deaths Reported From Kerala Alone
The active cases now constitute 0.05 per cent of the total infections while the country's COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.74 per cent. The daily positivity rate stands at 0.77 per cent.
New Delhi: India has recorded a spike in fatalities related to Covid-19 as the country registered 55 deaths in the last 24 hours. The country also logged 3,275 new coronavirus infections in a day, pushing the number of active cases to 19,719 and the overall tally to 4,30,91,393, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated Thursday. A PTI report also revealed that among the 55 deaths -- 52 people lost their lives in Kerala alone -- in the span of 24 hours.
The overall death toll of the country now stands at 5,23,975, according to Health Ministry data.

The daily positivity rate is recording a continuous spike and after the addition of fresh cases, it stands at 0.77 per cent while the weekly figure was recorded at 0.78 per cent, the ministry said.
An increase of 210 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload which now stand at 19,719.
Maharashtra
Maharashtra on Wednesday recorded a slight surge in cases as 188 fresh coronavirus infections were registered. No fatalities were recorded in the state in the last 24 hours, according to the bulletin released by the state health ministry.
With fresh cases, the state's COVID-19 tally rose to 78,78,363, while the death toll remained unchanged at 1,47,845.
On Tuesday, the state had recorded 182 cases and one fatality.
Mumbai reported 117 fresh cases of the infection during the day, according to a PTI report.
There are 1,049 active cases in the state, but Sangli, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Beed, Latur, Hingoli, Osmanabad, Amravati, Akola, Wardha, Bhandara, Gondia district do not have any active case.
