Coronavirus: India Records 61,267 New Cases, Its Lowest Spike Since August | State-Wise Tally Here

In a huge relief to the people, the daily cases have gone for a plunge lately. With 61,267 new cases on October 6, India sees its lowest daily spike since August.

Coronavirus In India: As many as 61,267 new Covid-19 cases were reported from across the country in the last 24 hours, as the country is witnessing a dip in its daily cases lately. The country reported a spike of 884 deaths in past 24 hours. The total number of cases now stands at 66,85,083 including 9,19,023 active cases, 56,62,491 cured/discharged/migrated cases & 1,03,569 deaths, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in its update on Tuesday . With 61,267 new cases on October 6, India sees its lowest daily spike since August, after reaching its peak of nearly a lakh infections in a single day in September. India’s positivity rate: As per the Ministry of Health, India's Positivity Rate is steadily maintained below 10%. Cumulative is 8.28% and the daily figure is 7.52%. Several States/UT are exhibiting Positivity Rate higher than the national average indicating a need for aggressive and widespread testing, the ministry said. Testing in India: As per Health Ministry , the Central Government and ICMR have scaled up the testing infrastructure in a calibrated manner.  India's testing capacity has touched 15L/day ensuring easily accessible Covid-19 tests by all.
