New Delhi: The well-known comedian and actor Raju Srivastava breathed his last, at the age of 58, on September 21, 2022. Following a cardiac arrest at the gym, he was rushed to AIIMs Delhi on August 10. Battling for about one and a half months at the hospital, he succumbed to another heart attack. 

He is survived by his wife Shikha Srivastava and two children Antara Srivastava, who is a film producer and director, and Aayushman Srivastava, a Sitar player. The person who brought a smile on millions of faces has left for the heavenly abode. Today the nation is in a state of mourning, for their favourite 'Gajodhar'is no more.

Raju Srivastava's daughter Antara Srivastava may not be a comedian like her father, but is an equally talented person in her own field. She is a director and producer by profession and has assisted in many films. She has worked in short films like Speed Dial starring Shreyas Talpade, and Love Birds with Adhyanan Suman in the lead role, among others.  Previously, she has worked as an assistant in many films such as Fullu, Paltan, The Job, Pataakha. She worked for Flying Dream Entertainment Pvt Ltd in 2013.

Antara has been honoured with the National Bravery Award at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi at the age of 12 for demonstrating exceptional bravery in the face of hardship. Antara foiled the robbers' plans with her presence of mind and valour, when armed thieves broke into their house. At that time, Antara was home with only her mother.

Antara's mother Shikha was being held captive by the robbers, who carried a gun. Antara had found her way into the bedroom and contacted her father and the police from there. Furthermore, Antara urged the watchman from the bedroom window to summon the police immediately. Only after that did the police arrive and caught the criminals, and Antara was able to save both her mother and their home from the robbers.

Raju Srivastava's humour provided a much-needed spark of amusement to the ordinary Indian. In a world where people deal with tragedies and disappointments on a daily basis, sometimes all we need is a good laugh! Though the legendary comedian will not tell another joke, his legacy of laughter and joy will live on for future generations.
