New Delhi: On February 7, 2021, the people of Uttarakhand faced a natural disaster. A massive flood hit the Chamoli district where reportedly 203 people went missing and 10 bodies have been found till now. The flood led to an avalanche near a power project at Raini village in Tapovan area of the district. Many people from around the world have been praying for the safety of the people residing in the state. Our B’Town celebs including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kangana Ranaut and others have also been sending in prayers for the well-being of the affected people.
Mommy-to-be Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a story on he Instagram and wrote, “Sending in prayers for the safety and well-being of those affected by the terrible tragedy unfolding in #Uttarakhand.”
Kangana Ranaut retweeted Prasoon Joshi’s post which read, “Hoping that Chamoli and other districts of #Uttarakhand stay as safe from the glacier burst and no lives are endangered . Prayers and strength for the people , the authorities and rescue teams.”

The ‘Kedarnath’ director Abhishek Kapoor also tweeted and wrote, “Devastating news . May god watch over those in the path of this monster..Hari om #Uttarakhand #Chamoli”

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat has visited the disaster site on Sunday. He also announced ₹ 4 lakh compensation for the family of those killed.
