The Kashmir Files Or RRR, Debate Resumes On Twitter As Film Federation Of India Considers Official Entry To Oscars 2023

Many have earlier expressed their predictions about seeing SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' as India's official entry to the Oscars while netizens are expressing their desire to see 'The Kashmir Files'

New Delhi: 'The Kashmir Files' is once again trending on microblogging site Twitter. This time fans are trending 'The Kashmir Files' as their preference for India's entry to the Academy Awards 2023. Another contender for India's Oscars entry 'RRR' also happens to be trending, though a majority of Twitterati are sharing their first preference for 'The Kashmir Files'. Many publications and filmmakers have earlier expressed their predictions and anticipation about seeing SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' as India's official entry to the Oscars. On the other hand, netizens are expressing their desire to see 'The Kashmir Files' at the Oscars. The trend for the Vivek Agnihotri film is 'The KashmirFilesForOscars'.

Taking to Twitter, many netizens shared their views about 'The Kashmir Files' rallying support for the film. A user wrote, "RRR is just a fictional story and it's nothing valuable when comparing to Masterpiece likeTKF💪#TheKashmirFilesForOscars." Another user tweeted, "#TheKashmirFilesForOscars“The Kashmir is such a gorgeous movie that really come once in a era. This type of movie is such inspiring highlighting our Indian history. A great concept and I really want this story to get a Oscar #TheKashmirFilesForOscars."

 

Another tweet read, "The Kashmir files tells about history we should praise Vivek agnihotri sir for his great efforts and endless service for this film should be awarded with Oscars.Let's support this trend and let this film get Oscars #TheKashmirFilesForOscars."

 

A user shared, "#TheKashmirFilesForOscars elaborates one thing, you don't need lavish sets and big stars to make a film run, just hit the right chords with the Audience and boom 💥."

The Oscars buzz resumed in India after it was revealed that a jury of the Film Federation of India had begun looking at films which could be submitted from India for Oscars consideration. On Tuesday, film critic and trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to share, "Since September 16th, Film Federation of India jury members are watching Indian movies for #Oscars Indian official entry.. An announcement is expected October 1st week or before.. #RRR , #TheKashmirFiles and #Shyamsingharoy are some of the movies under consideration.."

 

'RRR' has been a Hollywood critics favourite with many big league directors and film technicians rallying support for the film. Ram Charan and Jr. NTR starrer also won the Hollywood Critics Association Award as the Second Best Picture of the year. Besides, recently, after Variety.com mentioned the film as a possible contender at the Oscars besides also mentioning Jr. NTR in the list, the debate and anticipation around the film has only blossomed more.

Meanwhile, the Oscars 2023 nominations will be announced on January 24, 2023 while the ceremony will officially take place on March 12, 2023.
