Ekta Kapoor is all set to comeback with the reboot version of ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ and fans are super excited for the same. The romantic saga, which starred Shweta Tiwari and Cezanne Khan in the respective roles of Prerna Sharma and Anurag Basu, ran for over 1400 episodes. Both Shweta and Cezanne became household names, all thanks to their sizzling chemistry and superb acting. It was initially speculated that Shweta’s daughter Palak Tiwari would play the new Prerna in Kasautii 2.
All the rumours were laid to rest when the makers released a promo featuring Erica Fernandes, who is stepping into Shweta Tiwari’s shoes.
In an interaction with a leading daily, the Bigg Boss 4 winner had made an interesting revealtion. The ‘Begusarai’ actress said that her daughter Palak was offered to play the role of new Prerna in KZK 2, which Ekta is bringing after a gap of 10 years. She also revealed the reason why Palak turned down the project.
"Yes, I would have told her to go ahead and do it. In fact, everybody was saying, even from Balaji (production house) that she should do it. It was she who said ‘No mom, I don’t think I can do a daily soap and work day in and day out. I cannot do that at this point in time," Shweta told Hindustan Times.
The former ‘Jhalak Dikh Laja’ contestant said that her daughter doesn’t wish to divert herself from her class 12 studies at the moment.
"I never force anything on her or tell her what to do. She’s a very intelligent girl. She wants to be an actor; she has already decided that if she will do anything in her life then it will be related to this industry. But, she takes her own calls,’’ the actress further told HT.
