New Delhi: Actor Aparna Kanekar, who played Janaki Baa in 'Saath Nibhana Saathiya', has passed away. The team of the show informed their fans about her demise and paid tribute to her on social media.
Actor Lovey Sasan, who played Paridhi in the show, penned a note for the senior actor. Sharing a photo with her, she wrote, “My heart is very heavy today as I learned the passing of someone very dear to me & a true warrior. Baa you were one of the most beautiful strongest individuals I know inside and out. I am truly blessed for the unforgettable times we were able to share on set and the once-in-lifetime connections we made. Rest in peace my cutie Baa. You are so loved and so so missed. Your legacy will live on.”
In a conversation with Indian Express, Lovey shared she was not keeping well and was on a liquid diet. She was admitted to the hospital after her condition worsened and she passed away with her family around her.
May celebrities commented on the post. Kanekar’s co-star Kajal Pisal wrote, “Om Shanti.” Tanya Sharma commented, “RIP.” Saath Nibhana Saathiya actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee liked the photo.
Fans also took to the comment section and paid tribute to the late actor. “Baa we’ll miss you soo much,” wrote one user. “So sorry for your loss!! Loved seeing her on SNS!! Rest easy Baa!!!," commented another.
Janaki Ba's character was earlier played by Jyotsna Karyekar. Aparna took over the role in 2011 and played it for five years.
