MUGHAL-E-AZAM series: Meet the ‘Akbar’ of the show

New Delhi: Popular TV actor Shaheer Sheikh is making comeback on TV with remake of iconic film ‘Mughal-E-Azam’ as TV show. Shaheer Sheikh will play the role of ‘Salim’ in the show. However, makers are still searching for lead actress who will play the role of ‘Madhubala’. A day before we told you that veteran actress Aruna Irani has been roped in to play a prominent character. She will play the role of Salim’s (Shaheer) grandmother. Well now, the makers have also finalised the ‘King Akbar’ of the show. TV Shahbaz Khan has been roped to portray the role of ‘Akbar’. As per source of an IWM, “Though actors like Nawab Shah, Ashutosh Rana and Alyy Khan were in contention for the prized role, it is Shahbaz Khan who will go on to play King Akbar in the series.”
