Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2: Hina Khan on playing a negative character of 'Komolika' after playing positive 'Akshara'!

When Ekta Kapoor's 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' returned on the small screen, the actor to play negative lead of 'Komolika' was as much talked about as the lead characters of 'Anurag' and 'Prerna'. In fact after Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan were revealed to be the lead protagonists of 'KZK 2', the show kept making headlines with the speculations over actress playing 'Komolika' which finally turned out to be Bigg Boss 11 runner up and the 'Akshara' of 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai', Hina Khan. Ekta recently shared the promo finally revealing the face of 'Komolika' and sent fans in a frenzy. Earlier also, when Hina's name was speculated for this role, her ardent fans were as much upset as they were excited about the news. Hina has finally reacted to the big question which is "why a negative role?". The former contestant of 'Khatrona Ke Khiladi 8' and 'Bigg Boss 11' opened up on her role in interview with Mumbai Mirror and she says she doesn't think playing 'Komolika' after playing 'Akshara' is a risk. "I really don't think playing Komolika after Akshara is a risk. As I said, the word stereotype is out of my dictionary and I have proved that time and again! And I will prove it again. And sadly this is the problem with our industry, we tend to think that positive leads are better than negative leads, but no it’s not like that. As infact both are important." To elaborate her point further, Hina also talks of the iconic negative character of 'Gabbar'(played by late Amjad Khan) from Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan & Hema Malini starrer 1975 'Sholay'. She said further - "Its actually a pheeki dal unless there is tadka. It is a proper dish which is made by different characters. So its not only about doing positive, as people will love you like this also. For example, when you talk about Sholay, Gabbar is actually the first character that comes to your mind. So I see this as a challenge and I love challenges!"
