One of the most eligible bachelor of television Gautam Rode of Saraswatichandra and Suryaptra Karan fame in no more single as he recently got engaged to girlfriend and fellow actress Pankhuri Awasthy.

According to a report published in Bombay Times, a source close to the couple told, "They had a small roka ceremony attended by their families. Both Gautam and Pankhuri are introverts and they have always remained guarded about their personal lives. They have been together for almost two years now and decided to get engaged during Diwali, making it even more special for their loved ones."

The duo first met on the sets of 'Suryaputra Karn' where cupid struck the two and love blossomed.
Interestingly 40-year-old Gautam is around 15 years older to Pankhuri who is in her early twenties, however the huge age gap was never a hurdle between them and the couple is now all set to take their relationship to next level.

Both Gautam & Pankhuri, confirmed the good news to the website and said, "Yes, Pankhuri and I recently got engaged and I feel lucky to have found a life partner like her. We share the same wavelength and she has fit into my family perfectly, said the actor " Pankhuri too, seemed elated and said, "We have taken the first step. The families have wholeheartedly welcomed our union. In Gautam, I have found the answer to all my dreams. I'm eagerly looking forward to the most important phase of my life." So, when is the wedding? "Our families will sit together and decide the date. It will be sometime next year," she said.

Pankhuri, who started her career with an episode in 'Yeh Hai Aashiqui', played the lead role in 'Razia Sultan' and the more recent 'Kya Qusoor Hai Amla Ka?' which went off-air last month.
