Ankita Lokhande, while exclusively talking to ABP News, said that Sushant Singh Rajput could never take his life due to nepotism.

New Delhi: The untimely demise of Sushant Singh Rajput has re-ignited debates on topics like nepotism, favoritism, outsider vs insider and lobbying culture in the Hindi film industry. Kangana Ranaut, in her explosive interview, alleged that the ‘Movie Mafia’ tried to sabotage Sushant’s career and pressurized him to take the drastic step. Sushant’s former girlfriend Ankita Lokhande, while exclusively talking to ABP News, said that the ‘Raabta’ actor could never take his own life because of nepotism. “For me nepotism is like a competition, everyone wants to promote his/her people. It’s a fact. Sushant was not so weak that he would take such a step because of nepotism. After achieving so much in the industry, he won’t do something like this because of nepotism. I don’t think so. He saw worst phases; ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ was stalled 10 times. I don’t think nepotism can be a reason. There could be some other reasons. Sushant was a person, who could never hurt himself. He couldn’t even use a knife on himself. It’s unbelievable that he can even hang himself,” Ankita told ABP News when we asked her about the nepotism debate in Sushant’s case. Kangana Ranaut has been quite vocal about the unfair treatment of outsiders post Sushant's demise. In one of her interviews, the 'Queen' actress said that she spoke to Ankita to have an understanding about the 'Raabta' actor after his death. She said that Ankita told her that Sushant ‘faced humiliation in the industry’. When we asked Ankita about Kangana's statement, the 'Pavitra Rishta' chose to walk away. For the uninitiated, Ankita made her Bollywood debut with 'Manikarnika: Queen Of Jhansi'. The film starred Kangana in the titular role.
